This presentation will address the ethical issue of moral distress among related service providers in the K-12 educational setting. The focus will be to educate school-based practitioners on the importance of understanding moral distress as a factor in burnout within the workplace and equip practitioners with resources to better assess and address moral distress from an interdisciplinary approach. Presentation will include Google slides, case studies, and group interactions for collaboration.
Objectives include:
Identify those ethical and professional situations leading to moral distress for related service providers.
Identify strategies and effective problem-solving skills from an interdisciplinary approach that explore prevention and intervention strategies addressing moral distress.
Apply evidence based knowledge toward developing support systems among school-based practitioners and the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
